Keeping You Informed
The local community has remained involved and updated on the Shennanton Wind Farm proposals. To date, two project newsletters have been issued to the local community in May 2013 and November 2013. The project newsletters provided information on the proposals and details of how the local community could find out further information. A first round of public exhibitions was held on the 7th and 8th of May 2013 in Newton Stewart and Kirkcowan. A second round of public consultation exhibitions were held on the 13th and 14th November 2013 in Newton Stewart and Kirkcowan.
A third public consultation exhibition was held on the 25th November 2014 in Kirkcowan where a revised layout was on display. Around 25 local residents attended where members of the project team were on hand to answer any questions. The information that was on display at these events in available to view below.
We are committed to supporting local communities close to our wind farm sites and are keen to support local community projects wherever we can. In November 2013 we sponsored a renewables workshop, which was run by Rowanbank Environmental Education, at Kirkcowan Primary School which included the painting of an outdoor mural on the school wall inspired by things that help the environment. The Newton Stewart Christmas lights were also supported with a donation in December 2013 and the Galloway Pony Club in May 2015. We would welcome suggestions of how we can continue to be a good neighbour.
