Knockskae Wind Farm

Brookfield Renewable UK Ltd (formerly PNE WIND UK Ltd), has submitted a planning application to South Ayrshire Council for the Knockskae Wind Farm. The proposed site will be located on land around Clauchrie Hill to the south west of Straiton in South Ayrshire.

The plans for the Knockskae Wind Farm comprise 11 turbines with a maximum tip height of 126metres and associated infrastructure, resulting in an installed capacity of 25.3MW.

Jamie Druitt, Project Manager at Brookfield Renewable UK Ltd said:

"We have undertaken substantial work over the past two and a half years to put forward a design that will produce renewable energy efficiently while minimising environmental impact. Following feedback and extensive environmental survey work, the design has been revised from an initial 19 turbines to 11."

Throughout the course of our consultation we have provided a range of project information through two rounds of public exhibitions, a project website, local newsletter distribution and regular meetings with our Community Liaison Group. I would like to thank the local community for their interest in the proposals and we look forward to continuing our community involvement as our plans progress."

If constructed, Knockskae Wind Farm would contribute significant funds to a locally managed community benefit fund for the purpose of supporting local community projects.
