Community welcomed to wind farm information sessions

Edinburgh based energy company, PNE WIND UK, has announced that it will be hosting a drop-in session at the Queens Hall on Wednesday 2nd October. The event will provide local residents with the opportunity to learn about plans to develop the Cowal and Trossachs Forest Wind Farm- Bachan Burn and the opportunities for communities to become partners in the project.

Members of the public are invited to pop into the event between 2pm and 8pm, where they can hear more about how PNE is working with Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) to develop the proposals and have their questions answered.

Having been awarded exclusive rights to investigate the potential for new onshore wind energy projects over 5MW in the Cowal and Trossachs Forest District, PNE has undertaken a range of studies to understand the suitability of the sites in the area, and is progressing towards developing proposals for the Bachan Burn site.

Katie Newlands, Communications Manager for PNE WIND UK, commented:

"PNE WIND UK is delighted to be moving forward with plans to develop the Cowal and Trossachs Forest Wind Farm- Bachan Burn. By working in partnership with FCS we feel that we can bring forward the most appropriate proposals for this location, and offer a number of unique opportunities for community involvement.

"I would encourage local residents to pop into our event. Whilst our plans are at a very early stage it will provide the opportunity to meet the team and learn more about our forthcoming public consultation process"
