PNE Present Wind Farm Plans

Last week PNE WIND UK held a first round of public exhibitions in the villages of Straiton and Maybole to introduce local people to the Knockskae Wind Farm proposals.

The events on 11th and 12th June, provided local residents with a chance to view PNE’s plans for a nineteen turbine wind farm, to be known as Knockskae, situated on commercial forestry land, south west of Straiton village.

Those that attended the exhibitions in Maybole and Straiton were able to view maps of the site and leave feedback with PNE project team members. Also on show, was an interactive 3D computer visualisation, allowing local people to see what the wind farm would look like from local properties.

Calum Watt, PNE WIND UK Project Manager said:

“We were very pleased to have the opportunity to meet and discuss the Knockskae Wind Farm project with the local community. Local people have a wealth of knowledge about this site and we want to work with them to ensure that we understand and consider their views during the development of the project."

“The Knockskae wind farm is in the early stages of development and the public exhibitions and Community Liaison Group are held to keep the local community informed about the status of our plans so they can feed into the project from an early stage. “

PNE WIND UK intend to submit a planning application to South Ayrshire Council at the end of 2013. Further information about the project can be found at the Knockskae project website
